Light
Copyright 2017 Don Ray
So inconvenient,
these physical forms,
so inconvenient.
The Light barely penetrates the surface,
leaving us to our madness.
Occasional sparks and flickers
are promptly quenched,
for no one likes change.
we have adapted to it,
we have had all our history
to adapt to it.
Caress the darkness,
taste
it,
feel it glide over your skin.
Darkness fills the world
like water a basin,
filling every nook and cranny.
Light doesn’t stand a chance.
Viewed from within this world
darkness reigns.
Yet Light is everywhere,
filling the carnal world,
merely waiting
for the right surface, the right life,
to reflect the Light,
making Light visible,
albeit indirectly.
The Source
shines on,
never dimmed,
never quenched,
only masked.
Light becomes visible
only at interaction,
only when reflected or absorbed.
Blame not the Light for the darkness.
It is we who must absorb it,
reflect it,
transmit it.
Shine it on
